Can children really learn a second language at a very early age without disturbing their language development? The answer is YES, they can and it is very exciting to see their progress. In actual fact, for some families multilingualism is not an option but a way of living.

For us multilinguism just came naturally. My mother tongue is Spanish and my husband's is English. We spoke each in our language from the first day to our children, and once we moved to France, the children were just inmersed in French language, so they did not have a choice. Now the are trilingual and their fluency in all three languages is increasing at an amazing speed.

Summer is here

It looks like finally summer is here. I hope it is, after all we are almost July!

Yesterday we celebrated summer time in France, we had music festivals all over the country, from the smallest villages to the biggest cities. Everybody was out celebrating the arrival of summer. To receive the summer we went to the Eguzon lake. There you can find a lovely little beach with restaurants and different water activities. As expected, everybody was out, most people wearing their swimwear for the first time this season.

French Castle Chabenet

A restored medieval castle in the heart of France, the chateau de Chabenet is the most beautiful castle I have seen in the area. As soon as you cross the entry gates you feel transported to the land of fairy tales and wonderful stories.

Bouges le Chateau

Here I am with my granny in the grounds of Bouges le Chateau.

Granny is loving France, its castles, the food and most of all, the people; she finds them very warm and friendly.

Whe've had very bad weather so we have not been able to go out much as the rains have been rather torrential. Still she is delighted with what she has seen so far.
